Simultaneous interpretation is a real-time translation process where an interpreter listens to a speaker in one language and relays the message in another language almost instantly, with only a few seconds’ delay, allowing for smooth, uninterrupted communication at events.

What equipment do we need for interpretation?
Usually, you need sound-isolated booths for interpreters, interpreter consoles, transmitters, and delegate headsets or receivers. We design the system around your venue and audience size.
Can you integrate interpretation with our existing AV system?
Yes. We take an audio feed from your main sound system and send it to the interpreters, then distribute the translated audio back through our interpretation system to the headsets.
Do interpreters need preparation materials?
Yes. Providing agendas, slide decks, scripts and any specialist terminology in advance helps our interpreters deliver accurate and consistent translation throughout the event without any hiccup.
Can you support remote or hybrid interpretation?
Yes. We at EMS Events are delivering interpretation for both in-room and remote delegates using suitable platforms and audio routing to ensure each audience can access the right language channel.
What are the different types of interpretation?
The main types of interpretation are Simultaneous (real-time, in booths/headsets), Consecutive (speaker pauses for interpreter to translate), and whispered (Chuchotage) (interpreter whispers to a small group).
